Robert M. Derba
President and founder of Derba & Derba Personnel Consultants, has been in the field of Personnel since his career as a Lieutenant, US Army, where he served as a Personnel Officer and member of the faculty at the Quartermaster Corps College, Fort Lee, Virginia.
His corporate career with Raytheon Co. and the A.W. Chesterton Co. was involved in the areas of College Relations, College Recruiting, Market Planning, Sales Management, and Professional and Technical Recruiting, based in Chicago and Boston . He was one of the original franchisees of Roth Young Personnel Inc. New York, executive recruiting, search, and professional / personnel consultants to the consumer related industries, owning and operating offices in Boston, Philadelphia and Miami in association with 26 Roth Young offices located in major cities within the United States . Prior to starting this firm, he also served as President and Partner in the landmark restaurant and function facility, The Towne Lyne House, Lynnfield , MA , nationally ranked in the top 125.
He has directed and managed over 1000 placements and searches in all functional areas within the consumer related industries, and in recent years primarily involved in the Hospitality Industry specializing in Private Clubs and resorts. He has been personally active in private clubs, belonging to the Salem Country Club, Peabody, MA, Quail Ridge Country Club, Boynton Beach, FL and the University Club, Boston MA, where he served as President, and is a member of the National Club Association. Robert is a graduate of Boston College, BSBA, where he also completed the MBA program; formerly an adjunct professor at Merrimack College and member of the Advisory Board of Trustees, Boston University, School of Hospitality Administration.
